Make your experience specific

Describe the kind of service, your station and your responsibility. Preparing ingredients, plating meals, setting tables and washing equipment each show different experience. State the equipment you actually used, without implying chef-level responsibilities because you worked alongside a chef.

If you mention dietary requests, explain the communication and checking responsibilities you held. Do not claim specialist dietary advice or authority to approve substitutions unless that was genuinely part of your role.

Show reliability during a busy service

A useful example might explain how you identified a shortage before service, organised replenishment with the kitchen or helped the team complete a changeover on time. Describe your action and the observed result rather than relying on “works well under pressure”.

Service numbers need context: guests at one event, meals over a shift or the whole team's output. Only claim reductions in waste or improvements in service time when records support the calculation. Avoid copying perfect safety records or invented satisfaction scores from samples.
