Make the setting and contribution clear

Identify relevant experience in community, hospital, rehabilitation, paediatric or other services without suggesting every setting is interchangeable. Explain the assessments, reports or collaborative work you actually completed. State supervision where applicable and avoid presenting observation as independent practice.

Use an example to show how you communicated a recommendation or coordinated a handover. Keep client details anonymous and omit clinical records. A resume can show your reasoning and teamwork without disclosing a person's history.

Write outcomes carefully

Describe what was documented or observed and the period involved. Separate your contribution from the wider team's work and do not promise that a method produces a particular health outcome. A completed report, agreed plan or improved handover process can be useful evidence even without a percentage.

If you include caseload figures, explain the service context and your responsibility rather than using volume alone as a measure of quality. Connect a skill with the task it supported instead of copying a long keyword list.

Graduate occupational therapy applications

Put placements in a clearly labelled section with setting, dates, supervised work and learning. Relevant projects can demonstrate research, communication or documentation when described accurately. Paid assistant work should retain its actual title and scope.

List qualifications, registration and further training with their current status. Check the employer's application instructions and do not copy overseas professional initials from a sample.
