Winemaker Resume

To apply for a Winemaker position, your resume will need to prove you can study the chemical science of oenology, which is the foundation of the winemaking process, as well as viticulture, a branch of horticulture that covers the cultivation and harvesting of grapes.

• Coordinating the packaging and distribution of the finished product.

• Coordinating and supervising winemaking processes, including testing and crushing grapes, fermenting juices, fortifying, clarifying, maturing and finishing wines.
• Working closely with viticulturists to manage planting programs and the cultivation and production of grapes.
• Planning for bottling of wine once it has matured and ensuring that quality is tested and maintained when the wine is bottled.
• Liaising with marketing and sales teams to ensure production is aligned with market demands.

Due to the high volume of applications for a Winemaker received every year, qualifications that would increase your chances of landing an interview include a Certificate III in Wine Industry Operations (FDF30411), a Diploma of Viticulture (AHC51516), or a Bachelor of Viticulture and Oenology. Additional points would be given to applicants who have secured seasonal or temporary positions on a vineyard in one of the primary winemaking regions NSW, Victoria or WA.
