Leasing Agent Resume: Examples, Skills & Application Tips

A leasing agent resume should show how you organise enquiries, present properties and keep the application process moving within your assigned responsibilities. Describe the property setting, the systems you used and the handovers you managed. Avoid implying that every leasing role includes full property-management authority.

Profile

Leasing professional with experience supporting [residential/commercial context]. Coordinates enquiries and viewings, maintains accurate application records and communicates next steps clearly. Uses [system actually used] to track follow-up and hand over matters requiring the responsible agent's decision.

Experience

[Actual title] — [Agency/employer], [month/year–month/year]

  • Responded to property enquiries, confirmed viewing arrangements and kept records of agreed follow-up.
  • Prepared accurate listing updates using approved property information and referred unclear details for confirmation.
  • Checked application records for missing information and passed completed material to the authorised decision-maker.
  • Coordinated an agreed handover with the property team so outstanding questions and next actions were visible.

Qualifications and systems

List your actual qualification or registration status where relevant, with the correct jurisdiction and current details. Include the property or customer-management systems you used and what you did with them.

Explain the leasing process you supported

Choose an example that starts with an enquiry and ends with a clear next step. “Excellent sales skills” is less informative than explaining how you clarified a prospect's question, confirmed the approved information and recorded the follow-up.

Where you report application turnaround, viewing attendance or leasing results, define the period and your role. Market conditions, property quality, pricing and team decisions can affect the outcome. Do not claim sole credit for occupancy or revenue without evidence.

Keep authority and confidentiality clear

Use precise verbs: scheduled, checked, prepared, referred, negotiated or approved only when each describes what you actually did. Preparing documents is different from making the final decision. Follow the role's current requirements and do not assume an overseas leasing credential is the Australian credential an employer needs.

Remove applicant names, financial information and identifying tenancy details from examples. A resume should show your process and judgement without exposing a person's application or a landlord's private records.

Moving into leasing from another role

Customer service, reception and administration can provide relevant examples of enquiry handling, appointment scheduling, accurate records and follow-up. Keep the original job title and explain how those skills transfer. Include completed training separately and be honest about any registration still in progress.

Choose examples that fit the advertised role. A leasing consultant, leasing manager and property manager can have overlapping tasks but different responsibilities. For broader ongoing tenancy work, see the separate property manager service; for paid leasing-specific help, compare the leasing consultant writing service.

Before submitting, check dates, credential status, system names and contact details. Make sure the first page explains the type of property work you know and the level at which you performed it.
