An architect resume for building-design roles should connect your project experience with a clear account of your own contribution. Include the building type, project stage and work you delivered. Support the resume with a relevant portfolio when requested, making it easy to tell your work apart from the wider team's output.

Describe project stages and responsibility

Separate concept work, detailed documentation, consultant coordination and construction-stage involvement. State whether you led a workstream, contributed to a team or worked under supervision. The total value of a building does not mean you controlled its budget.

Give software skills context. Explain what you produced using a CAD or BIM tool and how that output supported the team. Avoid proficiency bars that leave the reader guessing what you can do.

Connect the resume and portfolio

Use a working portfolio link and label projects consistently across both documents. Credit collaborative work and identify the drawings, models or decisions that were yours. Respect project confidentiality and only share material you are permitted to use.

Keep resume headings and employment dates easy to read, even when the portfolio uses a more visual layout. Follow the employer's file-format and size instructions. Check that links work and text remains readable when viewed at an ordinary scale.

Present your professional status clearly

List qualifications, completion dates and registration status accurately. Graduates should retain their actual role titles and explain supervised project experience.
